The Bund

外滩

The riverside promenade of 1920s banks facing Pudong’s skyline — Shanghai’s postcard.

Should I go? Worth it

Go twice: at dusk when the lights come on (usually until about 10pm) and at 6:30am when it’s just joggers and people flying kites. Weekend evenings get crowd barriers — ride the ¥2 ferry from Jinling Road for the view without the crush.
