Yu Garden

豫园

A Ming-dynasty classical garden inside a busy tourist bazaar.

Should I go? It’s fine

The garden itself is lovely but small; the surrounding bazaar is a tourist mall. Arrive at 9am opening, skip the bazaar snacks and eat soup dumplings somewhere else.

Better: For a calmer classical garden, locals take the 25-minute train to Suzhou.
